While it doesn’t have a heap of power, the Juke feels peppy when the turbocharger kicks in to push you up to speed.

Nissan’s dual-clutch transmission offers snappy shifts when you’re up to speed, though can prove a bit slow to respond at lower speeds, pushing off the line and while switching between drive and reverse while parking.

On the move, the Juke’s platform is nice and nimble while tackling errands around town, with its small footprint happy to dart through traffic and squeeze into car parks.

On that note, the Juke’s steering is perfectly weighted, remaining light while making low-speed turns and offering some meatier feedback as you pick up the pace that makes it feel confident on the road.

The suspension package is more suited to smooth city streets, particularly on more premium variants that pick up 19-inch alloys which make the Juke feel quite firm on any moderate bumps at high speeds.

Having said that, the Juke is impressive while chewing up hundreds of kilometres at highway speeds, making for a nice and versatile small SUV package overall.

Nissan’s tiny little 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine sitting underneath the bonnet means the Juke offers some seriously fuel-efficient driving figures.
