The LDV T60 range kicks off from $41,042 for the entry-level T60 Max Pro manual, while the T60 Max Pro automatic is priced at $43,148.

Upgrading to the T60 Max Luxe manual brings the price up to $45,779, while the range-topping T60 Max Luxe automatic is priced at $47,884.

Is the LDV T60 Comfortable to Drive?

LDV has done an admirable job when it comes to catching up with its major rivals, though there’s still some work to be done if it wants to comprehensively win over buyers.

On paper, the T60’s engine is a winner, with its 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine producing 160kW of power and 500Nm, which is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

That gives the T60 flagship-matching torque figures, though the acceleration off the line can be a little reluctant, depending on what mood the transmission is in.

When you get up and moving, the T60 floats on its healthy wave of torque, giving it some decent mid-range acceleration to help overtake or tackle some tough terrain.

It’s not quite as user-friendly to drive around town, due to the hydraulic power-assisted steering, and while it’s totally manageable, the every day driving experience is noticeably different from its main rivals.

Take note that if you’re a family buyer looking at the T60 range, you’ll want to opt for the Luxe variants, which pick up a softer suspension package than the work-ready Pro lineup that can better accommodate a heavy load in the tray.

Is it Practical and Spacious?

LDV has done an impressive job with the interior design and packaging of the T60 to make it feel premium, even in the base model.

Positioned directly against similarly-priced competitors, the T60’s design feels slightly more modern thanks to the large 10.25-inch display atop the dash, albeit with some cheaper interior elements.

The cabin itself remains very familiar for the segment, and while the seating position might be a little off-kilter for some drivers, there’s a decent amount of adjustment and a heap of headroom for taller drivers.

The centre console houses a tall storage area with USB ports behind the gear lever, a pair of cupholders, storage in the folding armrest and some decent-sized door bins.

Move to the rear of the cabin and you’ll find a decent amount of leg and headroom for tall rear passengers, meaning no complaints from kids in the rear.

The second row picks up a pair of ISOFIX anchors and top tether mounts, a power outlet and a folding armrest, making for a fairly spartan rear of the cabin, though spacious enough for most growing families.

Is it Safe?

Safety isn’t a particularly strong selling point of the T60, in spite of its five-star ANCAP safety rating from 2017.

That’s largely because the T60 doesn’t offer anything in the way of active safety technologies like autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alerts or blind-spot monitoring.

Instead, the entry-level T60 comes packing curtain airbags, a rear-view camera and rear parking sensors, while the T60 Luxe is packaged with lane-departure alerts and a surround-view camera.

Our Verdict: Is The LDV T60 Worth it?

While it doesn’t quite match its 4x4 dual-cab peers in terms of towing power, there’s a lot to like about the value proposition on offer in the T60 range.
